Client: Government of Abu Dhabi

Bone Wells Urbecon was part of a multi-disciplinary consultant team to produce a Master Plan, Traffic and Transportation Study for Al Ain and the Region to the Year 2015, updating an existing plan of 1986. BWU was responsible for the economic research, analysis and forecasting for the Master Plan.
The aims of the project were:
To establish the present position
To conduct sector studies
To estimate the growth of population, households and employment
To investigate future land use needs
To prepare a regional spatial strategy
To advise on institutional, legal and procedural requirements
To formulate local plans and planning procedures
To establish a Geographical Information System
We also undertook sector studies on industry, commerce, tourism and agriculture.
