Roger Bone - Director
Roger is an economist and planner with more than 30 years consulting experience in the UK and overseas. He began his professional career with the UK Ministry of Housing and Local Government, now Department of the Environment. Following this he worked with several consultancies including Colin Buchanan and Partners and EDU International. He established his own practice in 1991.
Roger is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, Market Research Society and the Institute of Economic Development. He holds a BA in economics.

Abdul Rahim - Director
Abdul is co-founder of Bone Wells Urbecon, which was formed with the merger of Urbecon Ltd and Bone Wells Associates in December 2008. Prior to this Abdul had set up Platinumlinks Ltd which delivers business support services. He has over 15 years’ experience in business and economic regeneration. He has strong links with London and the Thames Gateway region, having graduated from the University of East London where he obtained his MBA.

Julian Wells - Director
Julian Wells is an economist and town planner with over 30 years experience in the UK and internationally. He jointly founded Bone Wells Associates and subsequently was an Associate Director with Arup for three years. He specialises in urban and regional economics, and industrial and commercial property. His experience has been largely in the context of urban planning and property development, often with a focus on the retail, industrial, office and tourism sectors and involving regional to local socio-economic and employment analysis and forecasting, and economic impact assessment.

Elisa Conti – Research Manager
Elisa Conti is a researcher in economics and marketing. She joined Bone Wells Urbecon in September 2007 where she has been involved in a variety of projects on evaluation, SME development and tourism. Some of her recent project experience includes work for the LDA and the City of London Corporation, the delivery of a Local Enterprise Growth Initiative project in Barking and Dagenham and bid writing for ERDF funding.
Elisa has a BSc in Tourism Management from IULM University (Milan), an MSc in Economic Development from LSE and a PhD in Economics with a thesis on the economics of innovation.

Bert Nicholson - Senior Consultant
With over 30 years experience of business and economic development, Bert has developed a wealth of expertise. This has been gained as a consultant, senior officer in local government in both Scotland and England, business executive and researcher. Bert leads BWU's presence in Scotland.

John Deegan - Senior Consultant
John has worked at all levels of local government and was Strategic Director at Warwickshire County Council until 2007. Prior to that he was Assistant Director at Hertfordshire County Council and Assistant Chief Planning and Development Officer for Oxfordshire County Council.

Chris Isaac – Planning Consultant
Chris has extensive experience of a wide range of planning and economics related assignments in the UK and overseas. He has also worked on urban master plans, estate layouts and design briefs. In addition Chris has been involved in economic regeneration programmes, including land and infrastructure development, industrial refurbishment, inward investment, business relocation, training into jobs and capacity development, together with visitor and town centre business strategies.

Richard Craggs – Property Specialist
Having gained most of his experience in large multi-disciplinary property consultancy firms Richard is now an Associate at BWU and has his own business, striving to deliver excellence and applying the same rigorous analytical skills to local property markets throughout the UK. He combines an in-depth understanding of land and property with an ability to utilise a wide variety of research techniques including surveys, field work and face-to-face interviews. He also has considerable experience in providing evidence based research, which may constitute a critical component of a planning application; and is competent in many areas of planning strategy work including the provision of market intelligence to inform key strategic documents, such as employment land and housing land availability assessments.

Trudy Godfrey - Economist
Trudy Godfrey is an economist with experience working in public and private sectors. She worked for six years in the Government Economic Service for the Scottish Government and a further eight years in consulting and research. Since recently moving to Oxfordshire, Trudy is has been working in economic development within Local Government. She is formerly an Associate Consultant with Tribal Consulting and is a former Economic Adviser to the Scottish Government. She has significant experience in consultancy projects, economic research, strategy development, programme and project appraisal, public policy evaluation and has provided consultancy advice to national governments, local authorities and regional development agencies.

Ashis Choudhury - Associated Consultant
Ashis is an economist-planner and transport planner/policy analyst. He is a corporate member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation and the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport. He has over 35 years’ multi-disciplinary experience in central and local governments, international development agencies and consultancy organisations in the UK and abroad. This included work for the United Nations, the World Bank, foreign governments, and several local authorities in Britain including Greater London Council. His overseas work related to India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Hong King and Saudi Arabia. He is actively involved in integrated land-use and transport policy and programme formulation related, particularly, to Local Transport Plans and Mayor of London’s Transport Strategy. He is currently Managing Director of Choudhury Lichfield and Associates Ltd (CLA), urban development and transport planning consultancy of London. CLA has strategic alliance with Bone Wells Urbecon.

Patrick Weber - GIS Consultant
Patrick Weber is a researcher with 8 years extensive experience in location analysis, GIS research and product development. He is a geography graduate with an MSc in GIS from UCL, and is currently completing an Engineering Doctorate sponsored by the LDA's FDI investment promotion body, looking at FDI business site selection in London. Apart from his knowledge in the analysis and support of business location decision making, Patrick has extensive experience in the creation and delivery of GIS projects, including the design, development and implementation of spatial analysis services and interfaces, as well as the design of bespoke training courses.

Natalia Naranjo - Researcher
Natalia is a graduate with a BA in Geography from Kings College University. Natalia has been involved in a variety of research projects at BWU including evaluations, socio economic studies and appraisals. Tasks include: setting up of online and offline surveys; collating the information and analysing results; statistical economic analysis; research; and the design and completion of interviews and focus groups.  Natalia also works to prepare robust reports, tenders and proposals for a range of clients.
