Bone Wells Urbecon were engaged as part of a consortium to promote the development of a new settlement located between the A11 and M11 south of Cambridge. The consultancy’s brief was to assess the socio-economic context, including the ‘fit’ of a new settlement in the locality and its potential impact. This involved detailed analysis of the sub-regional job/housing balance and a survey of local companies to obtain their views on the potential effects of the new settlement on their operations. Hanley Grange was subsequently selected by the Government as one of the candidate Eco-Towns.
